RE: What are some of the best climbers?
I'm sure you are going to get a lot this, but Summit stands are my choice. I did a lot of looking around before I bought mine. I use the Summit Viper XLS (last years model). These stands are extremely comfortable, lightweight and you can get in them super quietly. They also come with a great safety harness. Good luck with the decision.

RE: What are some of the best climbers?
summit summit summit
Most will agree I think. There will be some scattered lone wolfs and others. |
RE: What are some of the best climbers?
Personally after buying a Summit I tried the Ol'man line, I sold the Summit and use Ol'man exclusively. Ol'man packs, sets up and climbs easier in my opinion and after hunting with friends that use Summit, I feel Ol'man is quieter as well. Don't get me wrong, Summit would be my second choice.

RE: What are some of the best climbers?
I am the opposite of Rob. I had an ol'man and sold it after trying out my current summit. To each his own...

Lone Wolf for me, quick, quiet and safe. Seat on 2004 model is said to be very comfy.
Had a new Summit and Ol Man......sold them both for the Lone Wolf.;) |
RE: What are some of the best climbers?
another vote for ole man stuff, i've used a bunch and ole'man has served me the best

RE: What are some of the best climbers?
Less than overly impressed with my new summit Cobra X-4.
Labcoat guy needs to step out of the lab and actually hunt with his creation before sending it to market IMHO. |

API forever

RE: What are some of the best climbers?
I had a summit but I returned it and got a lone wolf. They are sooo quiet. They are the most expensive, but you get what you pay for. When you go buy a stand look at the box of a summit and then the lone wolf and tell me which one you would want on your back?

RE: What are some of the best climbers?
I bought a summit viper x4 this year. I'm still loving it. So much quieter than my previous stand. Better made. Doesn't slip at all. The harness is great. I can catnap with no fear of falling out. The seat is more comfortable than the one I sit in at work all day.

RE: What are some of the best climbers?
Personally i can`t` comment on the ol'man or the Lone wolf? But as far as the Summit stands are concernd i think they are one of the best stands on the market today. Easy setup, and quite, But from what i have read here! I don`t` think you could go wrong with any of them(IMO) P.S I might be giving one of the others a try next yr. myself:eek:

RE: What are some of the best climbers?
Have a Summit Goliath and couldn't be more pleased. Rock solid on a tree and I can climb as fast as a monkey and as quiet as a mouse.
Plus I have taken 5 deer out of it in the last 2+ years :) |
RE: What are some of the best climbers?
I have been using the Summit Goliath for a couple years, and it is great. I bought the 2004 version with the upgrades they made, and it is even better now. Very comfortable stand and rock solid.

RE: What are some of the best climbers?
For what it is worth.... I had an issue with my treestand from Summit. It is a Goliath and the base was bending, that did not impress. But the customer service was great to work with, and it is nice to know a company stands by their product.

RE: What are some of the best climbers?
I bought a Summit Goliath before the season started and I'm very happy with my choice. Don't know how much quiter a lone wolf could be because I don't really make any noise going up the tree.
Isn't API in Chapter 11? |
