Thanks for posting this Cloud. If I read another shot him and gave up after 100 yards I'm going to puke. It seems all to often when a bad shot is put on a deer the mentality is to give up insted of perservearing to claim the prize. Everyone who puts a bad hit on a deer should be forced to read this and the "what to do after the shot" post. The should search long and hard and sometimes inside themselves before giving up.

Congrats to your uncle. I'm glad you guys put forth the effort and recovered the buck. With a tracking job like that you all definately deserved to locate the animal!

Great recovery!

Question, how were you able to find the blood drops so far apart? Did the deer stay on the same trail? Go straight? Did you grid search? etc etc
