VIDEO TAPING YOUR OWN HUNT

I bought a tree mount for my camcorder made by Grizzly Tree Stands - and will be filming the area I hunt, as well as deer I see, AND HOPEFULLY a nice buck I drop this year....

Anyone here try to film their own shot ?? Just curious.

My main agenda is hunting with the filming second as far as trying to film a shot. I simply plan to zoom out at a particular spot where I bet that my shot will occur..... maybe it will work - who knows but at least Ill get some video no matter what....

And maybe I can film one of those bruisers I always see up there :)

I carry a digital camera with me and try to take stills, but cannot film my hunts.

My cousin went on an outfitted bear hunt in Sept. The outfitter had camcorder set-ups in all the stands so that the hunters could have their hunt on film and the outfitter could keep track of what bears were hitting what baits. My cousin ended up with lots of footage of the different bears he saw and a great memory on tape as he arrowed a very big P&Y bear!

If you're filming hunts...you NEED to checkout Dillon Outdoors They have an awesome product called the SUPERARM. It is by far the best camera arm on the market...it blows the others out of the water. Great Site Too!!

Yes I do!!!! I film all of my early archery and got some pretty good footage! I have only one shot on film, I missed! Pretty cool, I use luminoks and it was with 10 minutes with legal shooting time left! Tracers!!!!! I also have a 8 and a 10 pointer chasing a doe grunts and all, have a few different does coming down the trail but offering no shots! The best footage is of a buck fawn feeding out infront of me for 15 minutes! This was the first ever deer I passed on and got it on tape! I tried to film some gun hunts but to hard with the quick action and all. I have the first pine ridge archery swing arm attached to the rail on my climber, works pretty good. PRA has a new arm out that has 3 pivot points and a better strap to attach it to the tree or an optoin to attach it to your rail on your stand! Try it you'll like it! have fun and good luck!
