I hunt in West Virginia and had been wondering if the rut was running behind because of the lack of deer sightings and sign. However, this morning as I was on stand two bucks come in at 30 yards and begin Sparring. It was as if they were putting a show on for me. The bigger of the two I could not get the shot I wanted so I settled in on the other one and shot it with it almost broadside (slightly quartered) I heard the arrow hit the deer and saw it hunch up in the middle and start a dead run that lasted for 150 yards and then he fell over. I still gave an hour and then checked with Binocs to see IF he was moving any and when he was not, I went in and got him. Feels good to have a kill under the belt of my new Matthews bow, which shoots very fast. I thank the Good Lord above for allowing me the success and harvest. Thanks for listening to me ramble on . Im just so excited.
