Approximately How much would it cost to mount a whitetail buck?

Around here a good shoulder mount is running in the $425-$450 range. You can find them for cheaper, but you get what you pay for when it comes to taxidermy.

Not sure where your from but around here they run from $450-650.I have 3 done myself and they cost me $500 apeice,and i'm very pleased with the results.Like HNIJustin said,you get what you pay for.
