How do you sharpen expandables???

I use the 100 grain Rocket Steelheads, and some of the blades have tiny nicks but are otherwise in good shape.

Does anybody have tips or tricks on sharpening techniques and tools???

Thanks for your help.

Phuloschit, The expandables that I have are Wasp Jackhammers and for a small fee I just purchase replacement blades. They are easy to change!

Len in Maryland uses one of thoe little hand held sharpening devices to give each blade a few licks. He has used the same blades over and over. His tally last fall was 8 or 10 with no problems.

Phuloschit

Why not replace them? I use one of the sharpeners that dave uses also... but only for fixed blade's.

I use a jewlers screw driver to remove blades, hold them with a small set of needle nose vice grips and dress with a small 400 diamond file.

I use Spitfire broadheads and use a Stirling Sharpener . Its a small carbide tool , I clamp the blade in a vise and run the tool over it until sharp . Its tricky to get the blade so you can get a full run of the tool on it but it can be done and it works great . Check out www.stirlingsharpener.com
