Northeast deer hunters

I was wondering if you guys have noticed a change in the way the deer are moving this year. I hunt 400 acres in Jersey and its been sketchy this year. I mainly hunt in the mornings and my 2 hot spots haven't been so hot. I haven't seen nearly the amount of deer that I am used to seeing. Seems like they are moving more at night. I know they are there cause I see they're fresh tracks. Just wondering if everyone else is seeing the same thing.

I hunt in Maine and New Hampshire and have seen a fair amount of deer trafic. Neither state is known for particularly high deer populations but I'm seeing my fair share of them. I think alot may have to do with some food scouces were avaiable earlier (mast) this year then in past. The weather has been screwey this fall and that could be playing into what you're seeing or not seeing in the woods.

I hunt in Maryland and in PA. Ive also seen alot of deer traffic in my hot spots. Lately though I think they are mosting coming in at night and early mornings. Maybe the change in weather has something to do with it.

I also hunt in NJ and my activity at one piece is about the same as last year with most movement in the evening in the hour before dark.

Two other pieces I've hunted over several years are the opposite from last year. That is, one had little activity until later in the year. Now it is getting a lot of activity both morning and evening. The other had a lot of activity all year and this year, I have a doe and two fawns and that is it.

So I guess patterns fluctuate. Hunting pressure on neighboring properties seems to be my biggest factor.

Same here in NE PA....My honey hole has tracks all over it...in fact there are tracks in my own tracks where I walk in and out..guess my scent control is working but I've hunted both morning and evening with little sightings....I hear the same all over my area from fellow hunters....the moon, the hot weather and the deer having winter coats...they're moving at night...but the seasons early.....and my hopes are still high.

Sightings are down a little from previous years here. It's also slowed noticeably since the season began, probably due to hunting pressure. The most noticeable though is the lack of sightings in the morning. I've seen precious few deer in the morning . . . I took one of those, but the majority of my sightings have been in the evening.

The deer here in Central NY seem to be moving earlier and earlier. In the last month been seeing them in the fields at 1:30PM, 3:00Pm and of course in the early evening 4:30pm & up. Don't see many in the morning, but heck I'd have to be up then...lol. They have not cut alot of the corn fields yet and I have not been seeing a whole lot of bucks or any buck sign yet tho
