Feathers for a Whisker Bisquit?
Does anyone use feathers in the whisker bisquits? I have shot vanes through mine for a long time...noticed that the B2 fiber do help a little bit. I knew a guy at Fog Archery...15 minutes from my house...and he shot feathers through his bisquit all the time. He was a VERY good shot.(Shooting cigarette butts in his block from 40 yds) He swore that they flew better and less damage was done to feathers than to vanes in the long run. What do you guys think?

I use them no problem. They will show a little wear after a while, but it doesn't affect flight. I also have some with vanes for wet weather, but haven't shot them as much as the feathers so don't know about the wear.

I have shot both through the W.B. and found the feathers to be the most forgiving. The rubber vanes tore after a short while and the feathers held together from my experience. Some people have had good luck with the vanes but I did not.

Do it all the time with no problems. Works great and only minor wear at the very top edge of the feather.

I'm new to biscuit world :)
I just re-fletched 6 arrows 4" left helical, shot each arrow 5x they look and flew perfectly. I did take extra care to secure the leading edge so there was nothing for the bristles to grab. My goal was to increase my FOC a bit, but I'll keep a couple arrows with vanes for rainy days. UR |
