New bow case odor

I bought a new aluminum bow case about a month ago but I've yet to use it. I'm trying to find a way to get rid of the "new" smell inside the case. I believe it's mainly the foam egg-carton type padding used inside the case. Any suggestions/recommendations for removing the smell?

If you're not worried about the inside being squeeky clean I'd shake out a half a box of baking sode in the case and keep it shut a few days. You'll never get all the baking sode out but it won't harm the bow any. Another idea was a couple of years age my mother got me a mesh bag filled with small chunks of carbon. She thought it would be good to get odors out of my car but I bet it would work in your bow case. I'll see if I can fine where she got them. (I thnk out of hariett carter mail order mag but I'm not sure)

Maybe you could put a scent wafer in it. Just an idea.

TAKE A SOCK AND FILL IT HALF WAY WITH BAKING SODA AND TIE OFF THE END. THROW IT INTO THE CASE AND LEAVE IT THERE. BAKING SODA WON'T GET ON ANYTHING AND THE NEW SMELL WILL BE GONE IN NO TIME.;)

Try leaving it open in a warm place for a day or two. Some materials like foam will "out gas" releasing solvents and their associated odors. Then go with the baking soda.
