Default Release for Metal Loop?

I shoot the T.R.U. Nock metal loop on my bow. I was just looking as buying a new release. While browsing the Scott Archery web site it said they "did not reccomend shooting thier releases with metal loops". Does anyone know why this is so? If you shoot this same loop or metal loop what type of release would you reccomend? I hunt only. No 3-D. Thanks.

Those metal loops tend to dig into the jaws of your release and cause a groove. The groove will then cause your loop to catch when you press your trigger. I've had this happen to a Cobra release and had to switch to a rope loop and also switched to a Scott release. No problems now.

Try a T.R.U. Ball with the standard caliper. I used one for a while but did't like the noise when I released from the metal to metal contact. Hope this helps. Chris

I use a Trufire with my metal loop. Almost no wear in 3 years of heavy shooting.

If I use a metal loop I use a Roller Aid release. It works fairly well in that situation. However, using the Roller Aid off the string or with a string loop is asking for a sore jaw! At least on my bow any way. Maybe if you had a thick hard serving it would work better.

The Roller aid has metal rollers or bearings if you will, and will cause little damage to the metal loop if any and none to the jaw of the release.

I have one of the old pro-rollers (combination of rollers and calipers) and it works great with the metal loop.
