Fletching glue?
 

Can someone tell me of some fletching glue that drys fast but holds a good bond. I use fletch tite right now and it works great but it doesnt dry very fast. I have to wait atleast 20-25 min. before i am able to put on another feather. It takes too long to do 6 or more arrows. Are there any glues out there that dry in less than 8-10 mins. Thanks.

Ryan, use fletching tape. No drying time and it works great.

I pull the clamps at 10 minutes with duco, doubt it will work for what you are using. I have heard it does on alums but the one time I tried it on the wifes arrows her fedars started falling off....man I tell ya, for a non bowhunter oh the ribbing she put out for that one <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>!

I use that fast set gel and it works great. I shoot carbons and that fletch-tite doesn't do the job for me. The gel dries about 10 seconds after I put the vane on the arrow. It is very strong and usually won't come off even when your arrow passes through your target.

AAE Fastset Gel or Bohnning Insta Fletch Gel work very well with feathers on carbon or alumminum. Just make sure you clean the shafts with denatured alcohol before glueing to get the best bond.

Opps Shoulda looked in my archery box before I posted. Its Bohning Fletch-Tite II Instant-Gel.

I usually go to Wal Mart or K Mart and get Bondini Everything Gel. Costs about $1.69 and when you prepare the shafts right sets up within a few minutes and won't come off.

If you are using aluminum you might want to try goat tuff glue it is spendy but very good stuff do not use it on carbons how ever it really leaves a halo.

The best stuff I have found so far is called Flex-Bond Adhesive by Flex-Fletch Products of St. Paul, MN. I used it for the first time a few weeks ago and I only needed about a 5 minute set time in my Bitz clamp. You can use it on all types of shafts. I came across this stuff when I went to the pro-shop to get a tube of Bond Tite cement for carbons. The tech told me that they use the Flex-Bond for all of their fletchings because it dries fast, holds a good bond, and is easily removed when you need to refletch. The easy removal is what sold me. I had been using AAE Fastset gel but trying to remove it from carbons is a pain. Great hold but hard to refletch with the Fastset.

I have used Goat Tuff on carbons with great luck. Once you touch that fletching to the shaft....it is stuck.
