homemade target?
 

any one got a link to making your own homemade targets or do you got any ideas on one? thanks

Hey Solo- WalMart has some pretty good ones that are cheap. I bought one called "The 4X4" that was about $25 and takes field tips or broadheads. I've put about 100 shots in it so far and I'm happy with it so far.

You can stuff a cardboard box full of rags or old clothes, but I think Jimbo's right. You can find manufactured targets that are pretty cheap, and besides you won't chance bending or ruining arrows unneccessarily.

whatever you do, try not to buy a thin target...mine has probably had 100-150 shots through it and my arrows already shoot all the way through half the time..

I've got a "block". It seems to be the best commercial target I've ever owned.

For homemade, I don't think you can beat furniture cushions inside a cardbord box. Two sofa cushions work great because after a few thousand shots all you have to do is move them a little and they are good as new. The card board box makes it easy to take on any kind of paper target you want.

if you can find someone who's blowing in foam insulation into houses, get yourself a big plastic garbage bag and have them fill it for you. I get an industrial bag filled for $5, have them fill it half way, then squish it together some, then fill the rest. Shape it into form you want, then let it dry. It takes several days to completly dry, but they work great. I usually shoot 100 arrows a week in the summer months, and it'll last several years even shooting broadheads. Taz
