Cant See

Today i went out for an am hunt and saw between 10 and 15 deer. I drew back several times but all i saw was 6 pins instead of 3. I think my string was right down the center of my peep sight. One i drew on was a really nice mature buck. Probably 5 or more years old. But when i draw back i am having trouble seeing everything. Anyone have any tips for me. Im desperate for help!! thanks

Not to sound off but, practice and take care of problems like that before you go hunting.:(

Thats why i am asking for help. At home when i am practicing i do just fine. Nothing is in the way. I think it may have something to do with the clothes i am wearing. Im not holding everything the same.

Do you normally shoot with both eyes open? It sounds to me if you were seeing 6 pins instead of 3 that you may have had both eyes open. This isn't uncommon. Often if the light isn't good your second eye will open to try and get a fix on your pins. If you're not use to shooting like that then that may be your issue.

Always practice with what you plan to hunt in. I often shoot with a face mask on as well as my camo. It's best to discover these issues before heading a field.

I also drill out the aperture on my peep sight right before season and spend time practicing with the larger aperture. You will lose a tiny bit of accuracy this way, but it is MUCH easier to see pins clearly and in low light conditions with the larger hole in your peep. The hole in my peep is probably close to 1/4 of an inch when drilled out. I can still manage to shoot anywhere from 2" to 4" groups this way at 30 yards every time which is plenty to kill a deer every time at 30 yards.
