the story of my opening day
It was opening day of oklahomas deers season and i was sitting in my stand with my stick and string. After sitting three hours and finding little animals in the clouds i saw something moving through the grass, it was him. The biggest i had ever seen. He was walking my way nibbling on little bits of grass and clover. I stood and got ready for the shot like id practiced many times before. Only a couple more steps and he would be in one of my lanes. He inched closer and closer and finally stopped. I drew back my SQ2 and anchored instinctlivly. When he dropped his head down i squeezed the trigger on my release. The arrow whistled and hit with a reasuring thud. I crawled out of my stand then and there to recover my trophy. When i came up on him, he was bigger than i though. His ears were huge and the hindlegs enormous. I had killed my first Jackrabbit. lol. That was stupid but it gave me somethin to do. Hope you enjoy.
