Looks like it will be about 45°F on opening morning Friday, but a SE wind at 13mph will put a hurting on anyone hunting open areas like myself. But hopefully the wind won't be an issue until after about 8:30.

Friday afternoon I'll probably go hunt deep woods if the wind is bad. Any other ideas on Illinois opening day weather setups?

Let's see here........work Friday, work Saturday......maybe I'll get out Saturday evening. Big maybe on that one.

Sunday is a definite though. I'm going to be out there come hell or high water. ;)

I told my customers I was out of town 1st-3rd, I'm only 70 miles out of town but I had to get my priorities in line!:D

I was hoping for anything but a S-SE wind. That hurts almost all of my stand sites, can't decide on how to hunt now?
I'll be glad once I get out in the woods maybe I can get some sleep then!!!

well i just looked at the forcast and its supposed to rain in peoria friday. hope that it gets done before 3 in the afternoon. 3 more days!!

Looks like we might get some rain finally on Friday night and early Saturday too. My food plots need it bad. They've been planted for 3 going on 4 weeks and haven't had a drop of rain yet.

You can find me 20ft up a tree in the woods come Friday AM:)......Even got a new 4x4 toy to get me there and back.......... with plenty of room for a big buck in the back;)... Cant Wait ... I'm already having trouble sleeping.[8D]

Saturday is my day. Starting the season off with a turkey hunt in Ogle county. Scouted 3 nice gobblers. One's goin' down. I'm bringing a camera man along to film this hunt. After that it's rack time.

Excellent David!I bought turkey tags this year too.My place that I hunt ,believe it or not here in Kane co, has a few turkeys too,but the DNR doesn't recognize it as one that does.Good luck.

I have to work all day friday and wont be able to make it out saturday morning but come saturday afternoon i will be in the woods and thats for sure! Good luck to everyone!

Ive got class on friday as well. Im planning saturday and sunday in the stand for sure. Anyone plan on sitting all day this weekend? i usually wait until rut to start sitting all day.

I was planning an all day hunt but with the wind/weather being as it is, I think I'll split the days up in half. Hunting Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

I'll be hunting my open field stand in the morning then in the afternoon with the high wind, I will either slip out and hunt the big woods or stalk hunt some standing corn. Probably both :D

I was planning on sitting all day Fri & Sat depending on the rain, with the wind not sure where I am going either open funnel area or thick woods kind of marshy with a big rub line. Decisions, Decisions.:) Good luck to ALL!!
