Nock vane proplems with drop away...
 

I am having a problem with my nock vane coming off. I shoot a Bodoodle Doodle Drop rest and turn the nock vane down with carbon express arrows. After about 300-400 or so shots the nock vane starts to peel back eventually coming off have only 1 arrow out of six with all 3 vanes. I am just wondering if it isnt falling away in time, but even still the vane should clear I mean they clear on a typical prong style rest. Is this just normal with this many shots?

If its the same vane on all those arrows then its hitting. Did you paper tune the bow, this will show any arrow imperfections and let you know for sure if its hitting. Also if you use feathers instead of vanes you will hear it hitting probably plus they fix your arrow flight quicker then vanes.

The bow was paper tuned by the tech at the bow shop I bought it at. I saw it shoot bullet holes. This was only 3 weeks ago. Maybe it got out of tune somehow. Guess I need to take it back to the bow shop and see whats up.

There is no doubt in my mind that your fletch is hitting something. I too would try to shoot with the cock feather up to see if you get better clearance. However, I feel your rest is not dropping clear in time. I like for my drop-aways to pick up on the last 1.5-2" of the arrow when drawn, that way there is no chance of a fletch contact unless it's out of tune.

Thanks for the help guys.. man this place is great. I will try the cock vane up and see what that does. I just checked, and mine seems to start raising about 3.5-4 inches from the tip of my field point. Maybe this is my problem. not dropping soon enough... Dang its a week from opening day too.. .[:@]
