too early for buck urine?
 

I got to thinking today, and i was wondering how effective buck urine would be right now. i had the ideaof putting it ina couple scrapes that this 10 pointer has been making(yes, im positive its him, as its in his area, and he's the dominant buck in the area). i bought a bottle of code blue buck urine for later in the season, but would it be too early to puta dab of it in the scrape now?

I would say load the scrape up with both buck and doe urine. If nothing it should keep him curious and may present himself for a shot. I've seen deer pee in scrapes many times, it's like someone turned a fire hose loose on the thing. Our little 1 ounce bottles are kind of a joke in talking voloume we can put out, but it's enough to stink it up a bit.

I would say lay it on. The deer are so curious this early in the season anyway, you cant do much harm. I would be careful so he doesnt see you entering or exiting his area, that may increase this buck awareness very early in the season. GL this season slayer.

in re rut and earlirer bucks hang out in groups so if you put some buck pee down it would be a lot more effective than doe pee in my opinion. In early/pre rut season bucks are more intrested in socializing with other bucks than they are wprried about the does. But as soon as the rut begins you can take this plan plan and toss it out the door. This is what works for me in my hunt area. Saskatchewan,Canada Good luck. with all your hunting
