Even more frustrated!!
Added to all my other problems with my Reflex Gamegetter, the cable gaurd bar just broke again for the third time. I don't know what to do with this bow, it's just causing me problems. Anyone else have cable gaurd bars break, or is it just my luck 3 times in a row?

RE: Even more frustrated!!
Is it coming loose and falling off or is it just breaking? I've never heard of such problems and am puzzled but what is causing it. If the cable guard is too far toward 3:00 o'clock (right hand shooter) it would cause undue stress to the cables and could posibly derail the cable off the cam but I've just never heard of the cable guard breaking. What dose Reflex say?

RE: Even more frustrated!!
I also have never heard of a cable gaurd breaking? thats a new one on me? The only thing i could think of is it is what adams sead at the 3:00oclock postion and pushed to far out and giving it maby to much stress. But thats about all a cable guard does is push the cables to one side giving clearence for the "arrow or vanes or feathers" to pass. I would take it to a proshop and see what they can find out.[&:]

RE: Even more frustrated!!
It's breaking right where it goes into the nut at the riser. That's where it breaks everytime. Everyone I have talked to does not know how that could happen. I have the original cable slide on it and thats on the inside of the cable gaurd bar so it's not causing too much stress, just normal stress. Bow season starts in about 2 weeks here in Illinois, and I don't know what to do.

RE: Even more frustrated!!
It sounds like there is an issue with the construction of the cable guard. I'd see about an aftermarket one. Cobra makes a standard 3/8 in cable guard for about $10.00
http://www.eders.com/stores/3/catego...LXSM793896440& It may just be a manufacturing issue with the reflex cable guards. |
RE: Even more frustrated!!
Well if it is breaking of even right at the nut and not in the bow itself i would think it have to be a bad material problem or something like that?
