The most important thing for me to do is play the wind.I tried a bottle of "essesence of fall"last year, not sure if it really helped, but I did see alot of deer.
I will put my hunting cloths in a bag of cedar as soon as i am finished hunting.
Your right, early season can be a scorcher, and sweating on stand is not good. The wife is going to buy me a bottle of carbon shield and fall blend cloths and boot spray.
I also wash my cloths in baking soda and let them hang dry outside.

I usually try to spray just before leaving the truck... but it isn't scent killer I'm spraying.[&:]

I refresh my scent control about every hour when on stand. I might take it too far, but I want to be safe when the big moment comes..

Same here. Especially early in the year when I'm sweating like a pig after I get to my stand. I've been wearing a camo t-shirt to my stand, then spraying down once I get in, then putting my long-sleeve shirt over that and spraying it down as well. I'm trying out Scent Shield's new White Lightning product this year, so we'll see how it does.

I spray down before entering the woods and then after I stop sweating in my stand. They say to spray it before entering the woods, because it works best after it dries.

I had mixed some scent sheild with some vanishing hunter scent away one time, and i left my back underneath my tree on accident. I had two does walk right up to it and smell it and they did nothing, it was so cool. They just thought it was something else i guess. I always spray.

Here is a pic of deer camp!:D

As far as I am concerned the more the marrier. Depending on the weather I usually ware what I have under my camo's in the truck. When I get there I spray myself down. Then I lay my outfit out on the ground and begin to spray that down. When I have everything the way I want it I put it on. If the weather is hot and I am sweating like a pig I hit myself again. When the weather cools down I dont throw any more on because I feel that I have covered all the bases.

I go through about a gallon of "vanishing hunter" a hunting season, fortunately I don't have to pay for it. If I did I think I would use the home made scent eliminator rememdies that have been posted here. Either way I definately like using the sprays especially Vanishing hunter, you can spray it in your mouth... I use it before entering the woods and then again on my way in and in the stand. I also am a firm believer in scent lok clothing. Its really not that spendy and I have witnessed a significant higher # of bow-close encounters with elk, whitetail, and bear coming in from downwind.
