RE: "The Can"
Contact call....that's all the can is anyway.. it's a bleat that rises then falls in pitch...you can imitate the "can" with any grunt tube that adjust to doe bleats....and fawn bleats as well.
Does, I find are more difficult to call than are bucks but I've had great success callin bucks. |
RE: "The Can"
I use "The Can". I've gotten better responses from does than bucks. Especially in the early season.

RE: "The Can"
question :
I've used the can before, worked quite well on a fawn after I had shot mom. But if I were to just "use" it blindly when I'm on stand, any recommendations on when, how often, etc... thanx The Trashcanman |
RE: "The Can"
i would use a fawn distress call seems to work good for me one year i had 4 does come running from 3 directions all within 1 to 2 minutes of eachother. I was hoping for a buck to be following a doe but no luck.

RE: "The Can"
I too have used the fawn distress call with amazing results. I recall watching a mature doe feed on the opposite side of the field 100 + yards from my stand. It was getting dark and figured I had nothing to lose, so I hit a fawn distress tube call. That doe was under my tree in less than 2 minutes, coming in almost like she was on a string. I arrowed her at 17 yards. I've found it to work best in the early season, but personally have not had buck activity associated with the call.

RE: "The Can"
Fawn distress sometimes works great, sometimes not at all. It will bring in the coyotes though so be ready!!
