Is it possible to do this??
 

I have got to get a tree stand set up season opens in 3 weeks. As some know already I am new to bow hunting. I can only afford one stand for right now. Most of the trees around here are going to require a hang-on stand, but a few I could use a climbing stand.

Now to my question how hard if at all possible would it be to say get a set of Lone-Wolf climbing steps and then hang a climbing stand? That way I could have the climber if I had a tree that I could use it on or just hang it with the sticks if I could only use a typical crooked tree that we have around here.. The climbing stands also look so much more comfortable for all day sits.

This may not even be a good idea at all I am not real sure how the climbers hook up to the tree exactly..

That would be your best bet. If I was only going to get one stand it would be a climber. You can hang them like a permanent or climb a tree for temporary. If you find a tree that is crooked, put steps on it then wrap your climber around the spot on the tree you want to sit and you will be set.

I do this quite often myself. I have an older summit stand that has the seat attached to the platform which allows me to leave the upper level at home. And yes, it is much more comfortable than a lock on.

Lone wolf stands at least the Alpha Climber like I have are great for being quite, light, great climbers and quite secure in the tree. However, comfort is compromized, by the nature of the stand. (light, compact etc). I love mine and it serves my hunting methods perfectly. I'm not sure it's all-day-comfortable though. Mornings and evenings for 3 hour or so stretches it's fine. Just my 2 cents.
