What do u bowhunters do?
 

When deer season is out and i can't shoot my bow, i go crazy. what do u all do to pass the time away?

i live on 1 1/2 acres with not a flat spot in sight and i walk around with a foam target and shoot my bow. more targets on the way and hope to have my own little course set up soon. its not boring. lamar.

I check over my equipment and make any fixes that I need to and then start practicing for next season. I also apply for Turkey hunting tags and get ready for that season. I also start hunting rabbits with a bow and shotgun as well as Icefishing. Just something to use up time untill next season.

Bowing goes 24-7 for me I can now hunt rabbit's and I belong to a 3D range and also I can shoot my own target's We have a dart league that I thought that I would join but I'm not too sure how it work's shooting dart's with a bow but it sounds fun for mr and of course your right there is ice fishing .Guess my winter is pretty much booked and of course turkey season is right around the corner time to sharpen up those shooting skill's,so don't put that bow down quite yet get practiceing .......

I shoot in 3D competitions, and in my backyard. As for hunting, I hunt hogs year round. Sometimes coyotes, if I'm in an area where there are enough of them. The season never closes for hogs or coyotes.

There is always something to hunt where I live. Varmints, small game, upland game, turkey, hogs (year round), deer, non-game, fur bearers and so on. I do some roving (stump shooting) while hunting some of the game, especially squirrels and rabbits. Head for the range (60 miles) twice a month and shoot the whole course of 42 targets. When it's raining, I've got a target I can shoot at a short distance in the apt. just to keep the muscles conditioned.

Theres always time for a little back yard shooting. I also like to check out new equipment for the upcoming season.

We shoot indoor league. It helps to improve my form, build up my strength and it is fun. Helps ease the withdrawls from hunting too!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Ive got to keep shooting! I bought a couple of 3D targets for the back yard and shoot every other day which can be a challenge when its 0 degrees out but it really makes a big difference especialy when practacing for turkeys. other than that there is always icefishing.

During the off season I shoot 3D... and hunt groundhogs to keep in tune.

There is never a time of year when I &quot;cannot shoot my bow.&quot;

If you want to... you will find the time... plain and simple.

But I hear ya. When the season is over and hunting is &quot;no mas&quot; I get a sick feeling in my stomach.

The last day of PA late archery season is rapidly approaching... and I am starting to feel it. You know... like one of those things you don't want to think about until you really have to.

Start doing some steelhead fishing and get ready for turkey in four months ,do some shooting gun and bow .

was out preditor calling today. Usually shoot my bow everyday atleast in the house. Winter usually every other day! Can never have enuf! Tomorrow is our trad 3d shoot. wed and fri at the local school......build arras, fix grips, think of new things....so many things to do!!!

I go on a coues deer/javilina bowhunt every January, down in Arizona (leave in a couple days<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>). When I get back I spend 3 or 4 days a week scouting, preparing stand sites, and looking for sheds. Once or twice a week I'll go to the bowshop and shoot my bow getting ready for turkey season.

I start getting ready for next season, stand sites, equipment, scouting, etc., and keep right on shooting. Is there a reason you cant shoot after deer season?

I shed hunt, duck hunt, goose hunt, quail hunt, pheasant hunt, turkey hunt, fish, dove hunt, and then finally the best season rolls around again and I bowhunt whitetails.

This is my favorite time to scout, scout, scout and shed, shed, shed hunt. Prepare next seasons stands and build ground blinds. I try to shoot my bow no matter the weather conditions. I have a few 3D targets that I have set up on my property...kinda like a mini course. I love haveing friends out for shoots.

Well being a city slicker, I do not have the opportunity to walk out the door and hunt or shoot whenever I please.

I put my gear away after the season, and take it out again sometime in August, and start practicing again for the season.

my wife and I bought a 23ftW/A cutty and all summer I do is fish inshore around the chesapeake bay and offshore around ocean city for tuna

Spend time with the family. Fish, hunt shed antlers, other types of hunting. Theres always something out there to do.

I shoot a recurve bow. I practice year round to keep my eye in tune. Of course, I practiced year round with my compound bows, too! I just love shooting a bow.

Other than dream about next season. I usually buy all kinds of useless new gadgets that end up in my bowhunting tackle box , shoot alot of 3d and hunter leagues and of course I have to make up for all the lost time with my wife and kids due to huntin season <img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
