Bowtech shooters ?

How many of you keep the factory sliencers on the bow and string? I have only shot mine a little so far and so far it seems fairly quiet with the factory stuff on it. I had one guy at a pro shop told me It's better to replace them with sims, another guy at the same shop said sims aren't any better. What do you think?

I have left the string silencers on my bowtechs untill they have wore out in the past. The ones on my Pat have about 1000 shots on them and very little signs of wear. I do believe the simms are a little better, but durability is an issue with the leeches.

When these break up and wear out I will replace them with a new set of bowtech string silencers.

I leave them on untill they have shot off then replace them with cats whiskers cut to about the size of a 1/2 dollar.

It's been proven that (on the Liberty at least) the BowTech silencers are within about 1db or less on average as far as noise reduction VS. the SIMS Leeches, so it's safe to say that they do work well.
String position as well as individual set-up will determine how much abuse they can take.......my Liberty at 30"/70# eats the bottom one up real quick down low because it snags the string near the cam.
The top one still looks new after a ton of shooting.......
I finally got tired of taking my string off to replace the BowTech ones and put some SIMS leeches in that I had lying around the other day and I cannot tell a difference in noise reduction.
The Leeches are just more convenient to use, that's all IMO.

I've got an 04 Patriot and can definately say that the new style of Limbsavers makes a noticable difference.

it took about 3 weeks to knock 4 of the 5 nubbies off the upper silencer on my Justice. The shop said that the Sims don't last much longer so they put a set of cat whiskers on for me. It seems abit quieter now.

When the factory string silencers work out I replaced them with leeches. I don't seem to have a problem with wear like other have. Other than that I still have the original vibrablocks and cable guard dampener on my Patriot.
