Time to get some work done

I hope everybody has gotten their summer projects done. I won't find any time except for hunting here in two weeks.

RE: My best stand

OHBowhunter-sounds like a great spot. Whack a doe or two(if you have extra tags there) to get that out of your system and then sit back and wait for one of the big boys. Hunt it only when the wind is right, watch your entrance and exit, and you should be good to go.

I have a few spots that continue to produce buck sightings year after year. One is at a creek crossing on the back side of a large slash. There is about a 50 yard wide strip of mature trees between the creek and the cut. Not only do the bucks run that strip scent checking for does in the cut, they cross the creek right next to my stand. I have an east to west entrance so wind is typically not a concern. With all the years I've hunted that spot, and taken quite a few bucks, I have seen only two does and one of them was with a buck. So it's not very good early or after the bucks are with the does but when they are looking for the girls-it can't be beat.
