when should i start a mock scrape????
 
I live in north texas the peak of the rut is around mid november so when shpuld i start to make my scrapes??

In ohio i put mock scrapes in mid october to get the big bucks thinking that some younger bucks are trying to take over.

Like mentioned above, now is a good time.....we have to remember that there are two types of scrapes, one being a territorial scrape and the other a breeding scrape although the two are very similiar.....again, if you start now and I would, use a buck urine or no urine at all.....the deer will find it and apply their own scents and you'll have something....the other thing to remember is that all scrapes are created equal...you may find a scrape, hunt over it and never see a deer....a scrape tells us there is a buck in the area....you still have to do your homework or like most hunters....simply get lucky...;)

Truer words have never been spoken. However, If you find a bunch of scrapes, rubs, and giant tracks in a funnel/saddle, connecting two doe bedding areas, you generally have something ;):D
