You can for example go to the Gold Tip or other arrow manufacturers websites and go to their calculators entering draw weight, arrow weight etc you are shooting to figure your arrows kenetic energy and the recomended kenetic needed for small- medium- large animals, that way you will know if you have enough KE for the Elk you want to hunt.
