mental concentration

I have noticed that it takes a bit of mental concentration to shoot a bow or is this just me?

absolutely. And thats a big part of why I love it. Work may be crazy, family and the wife might get on my case, or someone just might have a smart mouth, but when I draw back>I just zone. It's my drug.

Archery is 90% mental. That's always been the tough part for me. :)

Same here. It sure is a great way to unwind after another day at work. Of course I spend most of my day on here lately.:D

I guess I'm in the minority. I've been shooting a bow for better then 12 years and It's to the point that shooting is second nature to me. I draw, anchor, breath, and when it feel good the arrow is on it's way. I really don't think a whole lot about the process when I'm doing it. When I start to think about the process when I'm shooting I find myself punching the trigger[:'(].

Don't get me wrong, It's definately my prozac but I just don't think a whole lot about it when I'm doing it.

I'm with adams. If I try to concentrate too much I start shooting worse.
