You're gonna get a wide variety of choices I'll bet <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>...my vote goes for Chippewa Wedge-Loc. I use both the 'chief' and 'wedge-loc' models.

I will 2nd Summit stands. I have not found a climber out their to compare with theirs. For a fixed position stand You realy need to look at the Copperhead XL. It will cost a little more than some of the others out thier, but you won't find one that is more comfortable, stable, and hangs as fast! I recently had the chance to try one out and I was very impressed. If you can get both a climber and fixed stand, but If you can only afford one, go with a good climber. The summit viper xl is a great all around choice.

Lone Wolf Climber. 15.5lbs, 3 inches on your back. Quiet, solid, expensive.

I have buck shots big shot and I love this stand and I can sit still all day long and that is saying a lot. You also can sit facing to or away from the tree.

summit by far from my experience and they have what has to be the best customer service in the industry today. It is nothing to see the president of summit posting right here.

This year in Arizona, I had the opportunity to complete a filed test on the GameTracker Gorilla Silverback Treestand. The stand was very light, easy to carry, stable, large platform. The only draw back that I had seen was that it could have used a Ratchet style strap. I removed the one it came with, added the ratchet style and I was impressed. Also, that cost is low compared to others. I gave this stand a 9 out of a possible 10.
Good luck!
