X-scent technology with silver?
In the quest for better hunting and scent control, I came across the x-scent products that supposedly destroys the odor causing bacteria instead of absorbing odor once it is created. In their words, they treat the cause instead of the symptoms.
Has anyone used it yet? If so, what do you think? |

RE: X-scent technology with silver?
Thanks JJWIII. That's odd that I didn't see this post because I did a search for x-scent and only came across one thread where someone was asking where you could buy it.
I'm thinking about trying the same test and am definitely looking at the head cover, since that is where so much odor comes from and is so often overlooked by hunters, at least by me anyway. If it works like they say it works, and all indications so far is that it does, then I'm predicting this will be the next hot item on these boards, right beside ASAT. If anyone else is interested, read this link... http://www.fastestbows.com/press/200...cks_proof.html |
RE: X-scent technology with silver?
I just got back from an eight day hunt where I could only shower once during that period of time. Everyday I wore the x-scent long underwear on morning and night hunts. The socks were worn only on the night hunts. Hot temperatures during the day prevented all day treks. Nearly everyday I did wash my body with scentless handiwipes. Needless to say I did get winded when conditions weren't right.
I am drying the clothes as I type this. The socks and long john bottoms didn't smell to bad. The long john top however, stunk to high heaven. By the way, the long johns are made of silk and the sock unfortunately are cotton. I'm not sure if that has anything at all to do with odor but it certainly has a lot to do with wicking properties. I guess what I am trying to say is that x-scent is far from a cure all. I was disappointed. Perhaps I expected to much. It is probably unreasonable to think that this "magic fiber" would eliminate or "cure" scenting problems in these extreme conditions. |

There are also different makes of this product. Some only contain 3% X static while other have as much as 15%. Check which one you have.

RE: X-scent technology with silver?
As far as the the long underwear went the thicker the material the smaller the percentage of silver fiber. If memory serves me correctly, on the silk underwear it said 5%. I'm not sure of the percentage on the cotton socks.
What garments did you find the 15% number on? |
RE: X-scent technology with silver?
I believe it is called hunters gear.
Socks are 19 % X Gloves are 13% X Not sure on the head cover. The rest of the body is 3-5% depending on material |
