Hunting from a blind

Not shooting like I'm blind, I do that quite well already, thank you... :)

We have a food plot that is just about impossible to hunt from a tree due to the slope of the terrain and how deer access it.

I'm considering putting a commercial blind (outhouse) in several weeks before the season, which is like, yesterday, and am hoping this will give the deer adequate time to get use to it's presence.

Has this worked for anyone? Any other time I've hunted from a blind the same time I put it up, the deer zone in on it and hit red alert. I'm hoping this is the solution, but have zero experience so I'm looking for input.

Thanks :)

RE: Hunting from a blind

I will be putting up a couple of natural ground blinds this weekend. I just build some branches and burlap around a deadfall. It has worked real well in the past. Gives them time to get used to it. I could not leave the popup type blind where I am because it would be too visiable and would probably end up stolen.[:@]

This would be on remote private ground, so theft shouldn't be an issue.

Plus, it's not mine... :)

We have had some sucess with popups on our club over the last couple of years. I think you are on the right track to put them out early. MAke sure to spray them with scent killer after you put them up.
