Patriot or Liberty would be two bows to start with. Though I'd recommend shooting as many as you can to see which feels best.

depends on what YOU are looking for.

personally I think the Patriot is the best bow being made right now, that is why it is what I shoot!

I paid $659 for my Patriot. I think the Liberty is about $20 more. The Justice looks to be a nice bow for about $100 less. You're just kidding about the Outback ...right? ;)[8D]

Why don't you tell us what YOU like. You may like the bows I don't like. Everyone is different. Shoot as many as you can.

I own a Liberty, and had a stalker before that. If I had it all to do over again, I would shoot the dual cam patriot and some Mathews in the same day to be 100% sure of my choice... that being said, I am still sold on the Liberty, but the point is, try 'em all and go with what YOU feel shoots the best for YOU.

i have limited places to try them out.only one mathews dealer that will let you shoot and no bowtech dealers who have a range.i will try to shoot both bows.

RE: which bowtech?

Hey everyone, I have a chance to trade my Mathews Q2 in for 2003 left over bowtech. The dealer has 2 patriots, 2 mighty mites, and some other bows. I told him I want the mighty mite but I dont have to make the decision until next week. This is an even up trade, my bow for the left over no cash needed. What should I get? The only bowtech I shot was the mighty mite, but if the Patriot is better then I'll get it instead. Why is it better? Hopefully not just because its faster, i dont care about speed, i want smooth and quiet.

RE: which bowtech?

When I bought my Bowtech I shot the Liberty, Extreme VFT, Patriot Dually, Justice, and the Patriot VFT. All of them shot very well, but when I shot the Patriot VFT I knew after one shot it was for me. My recommendation would be to find a dealer that carries Bowtech's whole line and start shooting them (or should I say find a dealer with a range and a full Bowtech line) and I'm sure after a couple shots you'll have a pretty good idea which model you want.

PA-BO-MAN-
I had a 2002 mighty-mite and it was pound for pound same arrow yada- yada- yada faster than my current Patriot VFT. Speed is not the reason.
Smoothness of the draw and the feeling the VFT limbs gives you are the reasons to consider the Patriot along with the mighty-mite.

I'm not sure why, but the mighty-mite is (IMHO) a stiffer draw pound per pound than the Patriot. I've read on hear before from people in the know that it had something to do with the limb angle or something like that. Not sure why, just know it is.

Your best bet would be to shoot both with an open mind and make your decision from there. I do know this (in my experience, looking on e-bay and such) the Patriot carried a better resale value than the MM when I went to sell mine.

Shoot them both at the same draw weight and poundage and you'll know which bow ios right for you.
Good shopping.

p.s. I stile Love my Pat VFT!

i just bought a bowtech extreme VFT and the thing is awesome i highly recommend buying 1 instead of mathews much smoother faster and very quiet IBO is 333 on mine but with the arrow iam hunting with 306 you cant go wrong with bowtech.

you gotta shoot them to decide. I tried the Liberty, Patriot and Justice and ended up with the Justice. It just felt the best in my hands.

RE: which bowtech?

Well here is my verdict.Im going with Mathews.Why?1:resale value 2:location of a pro shop 3:shooting both bows there is no comparison for me Mathews wins.Like most of you said shoot both and what ever you like buy it.Bowtech is no slouch and I even tried Hoyt but I think I made the right decision. Thanks for all of your opions.

Glad you found one you liked. But which Mathews?

Although I dont agree with the resale value per say. I have sold 3 used bowtechs and got good money out of each:)

im going with the outback.maybe im wrong about the bowtechs resale value

RE: which bowtech?

i found a 03 extreme for 350.00 so i figure it lost half of its value in a year.but i didnt see the bow so it might have been in bad shape.

buckeye 09-06-2004 08:37 PM

RE: which bowtech?

Extremes MSRP is $589.

I sold my 03 extreme about 4 months ago for $425 with no sight, stabilizer or rest. Just some simms products on it;)

RE: which bowtech?

Congratulations on the new bow. The outback is a sweet shooter. When considering your original question I was forced to agree with most others in that the Patriot SC or Liberty would be my top two choices without going to extremes. The MM VFT is a nice bow as well but not everyone likes to go "that short".

Above any of the others though, I have to admit that the Pro 40 Freedom Cam is my favorite for just plain ol' shooting. It has zero recoil, low levels of noise and is extremely accurate....speed isn't too bad either.

Good luck with the Outback.
