RE: Different poo consistency, a myth?
actually ive heard the same thing about the piles being froma buck,, but never put much stock in it,, you hear that stuff from the same guys that can tell a buck track from a doe track. anyway im all for what they said about you tasting it to see for sure,, i bet the buck turds will be tougher! The way i see it-- big turd-big deer/little turd-little deer/big track-big deer/little track-little deer,, just my two cents worth.

I've always heard that "clumped dump" is made by a buck also, and that pellets are does.
I'm not sure it's true...apparently others here don't believe it at all...I really do think that it depends on what the deer are eating though. Perhaps, that can help you out more than anything else. Good luck.

I ate somethin wrong tha other day and my poo was a lil runny but that doesn't make me a she. I think your friend is full it. [:'(] BUT!!! I'm in favor of tha taste test too. Give er' a taste and let us know if it taste's like a buck or doe. Next time I'm out and see some I can ship you a sample to try. You could probably make a successful business out of it if you put it together right.

Clumped up together usually means the deer are feeding mainly on grasses, and smaller hard shiny pellets usually mean they are feeding on woody type browse. This is sometimes a good clue where to find the deer feeding in the evenings.Have you seen them feed?If so what were they eating?
