RE: STRING LOOP OR STRAIGHT OFF THE STRING?
I shoot a string loop and will for the forseeable future.
Your choice seems to depend on your axle-to-axle length of your bow. You do not want anything to interfere with you nock when you are at full draw.
Good luck.

Yeah, i too shoot a string loop, but have also shot off the string. My accuracy is about the same.however,i do like the feel of shooting off the string, the release feels better where it anchors.I was thinking of switching back when i put on this new cable,so i can put on some eliminator buttons.

Thunder,
I shoot the same release you mention and only really love it because I am so used to its feel.
I shot a buddies wrist strap release and it felt very awkward to me.
If its better or not I dont know but didnt want to ivest the time gettting used to it or the money for a new release when the one I have suits me just fine.
I do notice that the crackshot rod does shorten the life of the serving, but I usually replace my string each year so it doesnt really matter to me.

Straight off the string. Using a wide jaw caliper release causes me no problems with serving wear. If I shot a short axle to axle bow, probably a string loop.
