the haul line

Do you stuff it all in your pocket or just let it hang from your stand while hunting? The scent could be a problem, or is it?

I just let it hang.

But it has been out at the lease with my stand for a year now;)

I've done it both ways over the years. It's a lot easier to just let it hang there so it won't get tangled up and to save time. However, you contaminate it each time your pull the bow up or lower it so I am looking at what others do.

I pull it to the tree and wrap it around the bottom step, so it is handy when I get there in the darkness. I have had deer chew my rope till it was 5 feet off the ground and all tattered when I leave it dangling in the air.

I let it hang. Scent shouldn't be an issue with it as it's washed and kept clean. It's never touched without a gloved hand and it only touches my bow otherwise. Iv had deer like the thing in the past as well. Not sure why, but it happens occaissionally.

I wrap it around the bottom step. That way, a deer has a hard time smelling it, and it is easy to get to in the dark mornings.

I guess I missed the part where it said "while hunting"
When I'm in the stand I pull it up and just bunch it up on the floor of my stand.

I pull it up and stick it in my day pack.

I leave mine out in the tree all year and only touch it with gloved hands so my scent shouldn't be a problem.

Last season I tied a scent pad with hot doe urine to the line and brought it up halfway to blow in the breeze
I forgot about it being there and a little 4point scared the crap out of me. He snuck in downwind and when I heard a noise under the tree I see this little buck trying to climb the tree to get at it![&:]
