New "coating" on climber chain
 

I have a API GrandStand Supreme. Ive been using it for about 3 seasons now. I have no complaints at all about this stand. The problem that I am having is the plastic coating on the chain is all but gone. There are just a few peices still clinging to the chain. Is there anyway to get this replaced? Could I get some type of shrink wrap and use that? Has anybody ran into this before and how did you resolve it? Thanks guys.

P.S. I was on vacation last week and I missed all this about getting on teams. How do you go about getting on a team?

I'll have to dig through my paperwork at home. I know you can order a replacement chain cover from API. But I'm sure you can likely find an adequate replacement at a hardware store. Maybe check Lowes or Home Depot?

Go to Home Depot and get some 5/8" ID vinyl tubing and put it over your chains. Then make the holes for you quick clip pins. I did this last year with my stand and it worked great.

Hey if you call api if u got a number, they should send you one out free of charge..............i have a summit and just asked the sales rep via email where i can get mine replaced and he told me to just give him my home address and he will send me one..................AND he included a free camo hunting hat!:D I was impressed, so give it a shot and good luck

Summit has a model that uses the chain system like API? I've not seen that before. I thought Summit used that patented system of theirs.

You have to know the model of your stand...ie. 2500, 3500 etc.

do a search on ebay under API. i found a guy who sells the shrink tubing for both chains for around 10.00. it has the holes already punched in it. i just did mine a few weeks ago
