No Peep or Kisser on Hunting bow?
 

Just wait, since you clicked on this thread, hear me out... Up until this year I shot fingers, anchoring my right pointer finger on the corner of my mouth and shot very accurately, at hunting ranges mind you... I have never used a peep sight in my life... When I switched to the release I didnt have a peep put on, and also no kisser buttons... I just draw the bow, put the release on the corner of my mouth, and shoot very accurately... I now see that I am in the minority of people who shoot like this -- the thing is, it is like second nature to me to anchor off the corner of my mouth and I get consistent results -- I dont shoot 3D but for hunting this seems so simple... Anyone else shoot this way?

i think that if it works for you then u should continue to shoot the way u do most people learn from a kisser and peep now so they are accurate with them that way but if u have no problems i see no reason to change

I'm trying to get to the point where you are H80Hunter, by using a No Peep sight this year. Once I've become consistent in my anchor, I rarely have to check it with the No Peep. The No Peep will still stay mounted to my riser though, as a "quick check" of my anchor and form from time to time....

I am happy that I got rid of my rubber peep sight tube and peep sight.

I took out my peep about 2 weeks ago and honestly tried it. When I say honestly I mean I shot at least 1/2 hour a day in intervals throughout the day. I enjoyed the freedom of not having a peep sight. However, I could never get the pin point accuracy I was looking for. BUT, when I put my peep back in I started hittin' nocks. The bigest gap between my arrow placement is now 1/4 inch consistently from 30 yards. It was a huge help. For those who like to use it I'm sure they find it wonderful. I just couldn't do it. I would suggest everyone to at least try. It will teach you a lot.:D

I say every year that I'm going to rip my peep off at the end of the season and learn to shoot without it. Needless to say I'm still shooting with a peep but I've learned to shoot with both eyes open wich works well for me.

If it works for you consider yourself lucky. Alot of us would like to be able to peepless.

I've said the same thing for a long time, and this summer I finally decided to do it. I put on a no-peep, and I don't think I'll ever turn back. I haven't hunted with it yet. We'll see how that goes, but all seems very well so far. Give it a try. It's $40 well spent, IMO.

If it's working for you, go for it. I removed my peep about 3 years ago. Best thing I ever did. Last year I trained myself to shoot with both eyes open. It all comes down to practice, practice often, and practice consistently. You have to make sure your anchor point is in the same spot on every shot, you see the pins in the same way in relationship to the string also. I anchor the nuckle of my thumb to the end of my jaw bone, string touches the tip of my nose, and ghost the string just ever so close to the sight pins. Accuracy is no problem once you practice until it all becomes second nature.

I took my peep sight and kisser button off 3 years ago. I shoot better without them. I have 3 anchor points--my right hand tucks in behind my jaw, my string centers the end of my nose, and the back of the fletching lands right under my bottom lip.
