What feathers and glue?

I bought some Easton 4" RW feathers for my Axis. I like them OK but it seems the foam edge at the bottom is a lott thicker than feathers on my other arrows (that I didn't fletch). Also I used bohning insta get, with pretty good results. Just wondering which feathers might not have that problem. Thanks for your help.

IMO, Trueflight does the best grinding on the quills. I didn't even know Easton made feather. Gateway have always had the problem you describe.....heavy 'foam', uneven grind, just generally not as uniform and consistant as Trueflight.

For glue I've used Fastset Gel with good results, but removal is dedious. Just this year I decided to switch glues and tried Bohning Platinum....nothing but good stuff to say about it. It's now my glue of choice.

I shoot Gateway feathers and don't have a problem with thick bases. They seem to seat to the shaft nicely. Bohning platinum is a great glue but it takes some time to set up.
