I traded mine for a Mathews

RE: High Country Bows
I got a new TSS and love it, I think they are right up there with the Mathews and Bowtechs.

RE: High Country Bows
i shoot a highcountry powerforce xl and i like it ive killed 2 deer with it one dropped where it was standing due to a spine shot and the other was a straight passthrough and the deer went 20 yards and dropped they r a nice bow

RE: High Country Bows
they arent your mathews or hoyt or bowtech , but they r a great bow for the money ....

RE: High Country Bows
I agree with doublelung, while they are not the same caliber of bows that Hoyt, Bowtech and Mathews are, they are nice bows. I never shot one, but I have a dealer nearby that carries them and I have checked them out and they seam nice.

ORIGINAL: muzzyman88 I agree with doublelung, while they are not the same caliber of bows that Hoyt, Bowtech and Mathews are, they are nice bows. I never shot one, but I have a dealer nearby that carries them and I have checked them out and they seam nice. I had my heart set on a Bowtech Liberty, that was the bow I was going to buy. I decided to try out some other bows before I made the final decision......The HCA TSS really stood out. The reason you dont hear as much about High Country is they dont advertise as much as the big boys, in doing so I think they are able to give the consumer a high end bow at a mid range price. RE: High Country Bows
I had a Carbon Force and loved it. I had a problem with the cam, called HC. NEW BOW. Outstanding customer service.

RE: High Country Bows
I totally agree with Left26; HC is definitely up there with the other top bows. I took a look at their new bows this year.......sweeeeet. I have also heard that their customer service is one of the best.

RE: High Country Bows
I have to disagree. I shot a High Country for a couple of years and my brother still shoots them and although they are hard shooting bows I don't know how anybody can get used to the vibration and shock that these bows have. I shoot a Mathews now and won't go back. Sorry if I've offended you.

RE: High Country Bows
I used to call the high countrys old man bows because i didnt know anyone under 60 who shot one. But lately alot of my friends were going to them and they have really got their act together. I know several people who shoot the Forerunner carbons with great success. I saw my buddy drop a doe in her tracks with a forerunner shooting like 295 fps. The only bad thing that i have seen with them is that i know a couple of guys who have had the camo paint chip off very easily. I would own one they seem to be good bows

RE: High Country Bows
Now this is only second hand info but my proshop owner here in town said in his opinion he thinks they are really nice bows, but he stopped carrying them because he had a hard time dealing with their service dept. Took way too long to get parts.

RE: High Country Bows
This is an interesting statement, how do you know they are not in the caliber of the big boys if you never shot one? |
RE: High Country Bows
muzzy i dont mean to argue with you but i think the reason that they r hard to get rid of is because they dont advertise as much as the other brands and so people brush them off and dont try them as much as they do a hoyt mathews or a bowtech jmo

RE: High Country Bows
id rather shoot a high country than a PSE ( Pansy Shooting Equiptment)

RE: High Country Bows
No arguing from me highcountry, just figured I'd get a little ribbing in.;) This kind of intrigues me to go to this shop that sells them and test drive one just to see for myself. I honestly never considered on. Seems I"m just kinda stuck on what shoots best for me right now. Maybe I need to just ship next year and start shooting other bows that fit my needs.
here we go again......more bows. |
RE: High Country Bows
3 years ago... shot em all except for a Mathews. Bought the 4 Runner right when I tried it out. Love that bow. As for Mathews, I know that they make good bows just like everyone else, but I've heard so many guys talk about them like they are the best thing since slice bread. My opinion is that you can get a bow of equal or greater value for less money. Another thing is most of the guys I know who shoot Mathews always trade them in a season or two for the latest version. Whats up with that. Maybe Mathews should start a lease program.
