Different bear bait for fall and spring?

Do you change your bait mix for fall and spring, or you use the same things, sweets, grease etc.?

RE: Different bear bait for fall and spring?

I keep my bait pretty much the same. The bears should be trying to put as much weight on in the fall as they can. I think the area has alot to do with their diet. In my area (North Ontario) the bears seem to be satisfied with the aboundant choke cherrys and other natural forage. So we have been having little suscess with bait. I find the best food for bears are acually consumable foods like left overs, fresh butchers meat, stuff that isnt overly rotten. The rank smell will bring them into the area, the fresher food will keep them at the baits.

If all fails I have had good suscess with molasess burns and/or a mix of bread and molasess.
