Is it neccessary?
This weekend I finaly got my #9 module to change my draw length from 28.5" to 30". Don't ask why but Pse dosn't ship my bow out with the 30" module. It has to be added by a proshop after they recieve it(don't ask why, It's stupid I know). So now my bow has the 30" dl that it's supposed to and my question is, Is it neccessary to retune my bow?
I have every intension of retuning but didn't know if it was really needed. I've always been under the assumption that after any adjustment is it neccessary to retune. What are your thoughts? |
RE: Is it neccessary?
I would check your nock height to make sure it is still square to the rest.
Other than that you will just need to refine tune your sights as you will be picking up 12 - 18 FPS with the increased draw length. |
RE: Is it neccessary?
There's a better chance than not that your bow will need a minor adjustment. It's going to be a nock point issue, but not much else. Be certain that your arrow rest is ready to accomodate your longer draw. You may need to move it back, (the rest), or, depending on your arrow length, you may need longer shafts. After setting the nock height, check your point of impact at say, 10 yards. You don't want to accidentally send an arrow into the next zip code. Just sight back in and you'll be good to go.
