Strange Request: Where can i find...
 

im looking for a construction gang box for a cheap price. for those of you not familiar, a gang box is a steel box that contractors lock up their tools at a job site. i have an 83 jeep that is my hunting vehicle and does not offer alot of space. i sold a small covered trailer that i used to store my hunting gear in. what i want to do is this: weld a square frame to the bottom, so it will slide into the class 3 hitch on the jeep. the box im looking for would be roughly 5' wide 2-3' tall and 2-3' deep. i could put my bow, cloths etc in there. i wouldnt mind bigger, but dont want to go smaller.

i let one slip away on ebay yesterday. it went for 90.00 plus about 80.00 shipping. im kicking myself now....

anyone know of a god source to buy these? used is fine

Check out your Home Depot or Lowes store nearby I have seen some there.

Gang boxes are great but not cheap. If you happen to purchase a box from VaSavage270, the Knaack boxes are built right here in Northern Illinois (about 10 minutes from me). You should see if you could pick it up to save on the shipping costs. Knaack makes great boxes.

For about $30 more you can go to Home Depot and get a brand new one. I think the small to medium sized ones go for around $200.

I sent you an email with details of various boxes, as mentioned Knaack is closer to you than me and it would save you cost on shipping if you were able to pick it up there. These boxes are not cheap by any means even at wholesale cost just FYI but it's a savings to say the least.

Delta also has a pretty good box, which is located near me at much less the cost, but shipping will impact that greatly. I'm on Ebay as well under MrBethea I have a little store there that I place several items in.
