Ouch! I hate to hear that! I guess you'll be sore for a few days at least you're ok. It won't be long till you can get that revenge!!:D

Most of the time you are better off just waxing the deer, rather that avoiding them. If you have full coverage that is. Sorry to hear about that, glad your ok.

I Hit one on my way to work last march. He was right in one of my hunting areas. I couldn't stop in time and nailed him square. I felt ok, and the truck looked ok, so I just went to work. The next day I could hardly walk and found all kinds of damage to the truck. I should of called the insurance company but didn't. The doc said I tensed up and strained some back muscels at the impact. the way it felt, I thought i dislodged a disc. The worse part was, it was a huge buck with base's like coke cans, but being march they only came up a couple inch's. I thought of two real big bucks we were hunting in that area last season, I have seen neither yet this year.

My wife just hit one on the way home from work last week. About $600 worth of damage was done to the car, and the deer just ran off back in the woods. I'll be lookin for him come October!!

Jbra's right. If you hit the deer, it's a comp (comprehensive coverage) loss. If you miss and go into the ditch and hit a fence, tree, etc., or roll it, then it's a collision coverage loss.

Comprehensive coverage usually has a lower deductible and those losses don't usually count against you as far as getting your rates raised. If you avoid it and hit the ditch, it will be an AT-FAULT collision loss and your rates will likely go up.

The main thing is that you're ok, though. Sorry about your car, though.

Hey, at least you guys can bowhunt!!!! I have just been stationed in Germany and "Bowhunting" causes undue suffering to the animal!!! :(YES they actually beleive that!!!! On top of that I have to take a 6 week hunting course in order to even apply for a license. Oh did I mention, you can't bring firearms to this country....Ever heard of "Catch 22"? Hope that yall have a great season, GOOD HUNTING!!!

SORRY to hear about the wreck!
