Crimson Talon - Any Good??
Hey,
I've been using Muzzy 3 blade 100 grain broad heads and I got one 8 pointer with it, so I trust them. But I won a prize online and I recieved a pack of Crimson Talon broadheads that are curved. Does any body have any experience with Crimson Talon's and what do you think of them? |
RE: Crimson Talon - Any Good??
The short version. They've been tested on game, tested by 5Shot, and tested by a couple others. They really SUCK.

RE: Crimson Talon - Any Good??
Stay away there junk compared to the muzzy's, blades are way the thin.
|
RE: Crimson Talon - Any Good??
ooops! I meant way to thin

Did you notice how flashy the packaging is on Crimsons. That should tell you somethin'. Muzzy doesnt need flashy packaging they deliver a solid product that people respect. These guys are trying to catch your eye to get you to buy their new product. If Muzzy worked good last year they'll work good this year. ;)

The one looks like it could almost be illegal in NY.No barbed broad heads.

RE: Crimson Talon - Any Good??
you guys are giving me second thoughts.....
my pro shop insisted these were the best broadheads out there!! They ordered me a pack, which I have yet to pick up. Maybe I will reconsider... Which point should I go with? Expandable or broadhead? I just wanna kill a deer with it. Steve  |
RE: Crimson Talon - Any Good??
[8D] i have a set i have only practiced with they seem to fly good but i need to go shoot them a few more times

RE: Crimson Talon - Any Good??
Here is my simplistic view of Crimson Talons. How in the world could a curved blade design do anything but give resistance while cutting? [:'(]
|
RE: Crimson Talon - Any Good??
my thoughts exactly coug. you'd have to be shooting reallyfast to get a pass through with thsoe things to spin around inside teh animal

Just on appearances and handling them , I'm much more impressed with their "Raptor" mechanical head.
My buddy Frank bought a pack to try and they are nasty looking things, seem well made and are VERY sharp. A 1" cut on contact main blade with 2 offset vortex looking mechanical blades that stay in place with a no rubber band design that seems better than the blade retention used on the NAP Spitfires. Holds the blades solidly in place but takes little force to open them. I'd like to see how the Raptors perform on game, but based upon opinions I trust I have no intention of using the regular fixed blade Crimson Talon. |
RE: Crimson Talon - Any Good??
my gosh man .......never forsake the muzzy....excpecially with some bent up junk that "looks cool"
|
RE: Crimson Talon - Any Good??
I like them, only used them one year, shot at 2 deer and both are in the freezer,so i quess they do the job,and they fly just like my field tips. I really dont think it matters which broad head you use if you make a good shot.

RE: Crimson Talon - Any Good??
I used them last year and i loved them i killed a few deer with them.
I was using the muzzy 100 grain they were fish tailing a little so i switched to the talons and i wont be looking back. Try them if they are not for you go back to what you were using. Good luck |
RE: Crimson Talon - Any Good??

RE: Crimson Talon - Any Good??
I am gonna try the Crimson Talon's this year. The guys at the pro shop love them. I trust those guys so I'm gonna give them a shot.
