8/15/2004 Stealth Cam Pic of 12 pt!!!!!

Hey guys,

Here is a pic from Sunday morning of the big "12" point that I have been watching. He is a main frame 8 point with about a 5" kicker on his left side, and he has 3 small "borderline" points above his bases! Look at the height and mass on this guy :D

P.S. He is in a food plot which is a mix of BioLogic Green Patch Plus and BioLogic New Zealand Blend! Also, the big leaning tree in the center is a huge white oak that drops acorns every year.

Nice buck! Good luck getting him! By the way, after having your 3.0 awhile, what kind of battery life are you getting?

I'm with Charlie - I can't make out 12. I am guessing maybe there are some kickers or something around the base that are being counted?

Either way - great looking deer.

Dandy buck! I guess he got that way by being nocturnal;) Oh well, come the rut he'll forget he's a nocturnal animal and then you can stick him. I'd be pretty psyched with the season sooo close.

Thanks guys, I would love to get an arrow through this bad boy.

adams,
Actually, I see this buck all the time feeding in a field near my house during the day. Heck, the first set of pics I got of this buck were at 4:00 p.m.

CharlieP and Martin Cougar,

In that pic, you can't see his kickers. Here are two more pics of his. One is definetly a legal kicker while the other 3 are borderline! In PA, he is cosidered a 12 pt, heck, if there is a 1/4" bump, it is a point in PA :D

You have any pictures that show his full body? That bad boy don't look that old, must be some good genes around the area. Letting him walk would be a really tough thing to do,heck I don't think I could especially with the bow, but he looks like he might only be 2.5 yrs old 3.5 max.

You've been scouting out this guy pretty good. Those close ups are great. I'm expecting to see pics of him on the ground in a couple of weeks. ;)

RE: 8/15/2004 Stealth Cam Pic of 12 pt!!!!!

Hey Charlie,

This is about as much of his body as I have gotten on my camera! He always seems to know that the camera is on a tree and he tries to stay away from it.

Also, on the first day of season last year I passed up a small 8 point in the same area that had the same style of rack with probablly a 15"-16" spread! I guessed him to be 1.5 last year and I am not sure if it is this buck or not. Here is a pic of that 8 point from last year! The buck on the left is the one that could be the big boy I am seeing this year!

RE: 8/15/2004 Stealth Cam Pic of 12 pt!!!!!

Thanks guys,

I got a chance to go spotting last night but didn't get to see this buck, but I did see a bachelor group of 4 bucks. 3 were small 8 points only about 12" wide and there was a 10 point with them that was very very wide, but his tines weren't very big at all. His G-2's were probablly only 6" or so.

Thanks Charlie,

That is sad to hear when a buck get hit on the road! How big was that buck?

So guys, do you think that the big boy is the same buck as that 8pt I passed up last year?

Hey mammasboy,

Sorry, I must have skimmed past that post. Now, as far as battery life goes, it depends on how many pics the camera takes. I have had the camera entirely dead after three days, and I have had the camera go two weeks and still not be dead. I am getting roughly 100 pics per set of batteries (Duracell's)!
