Just for curiosity sake whats the fastest bow on the market now....is 320 fps still unheard of?

At IBO standards the Bowtech Black Knight is the fastest bow on the market.
It has an IBO rating of 342-350fps

In fact Bowtech have 6 bows that will do more than 320 @ IBO specs.
They are Extreme VFT 325-333 fps
Samson VFT 325-333 fps
Patriot VFT 320-328 fps
Pro 40 Dually 328-336 fps
Patriot Dually 326-334 fps
And the Black Knight

315- 320 is about the average limit these days. It's not surprising to at least one bow in a line up with at least that for an IBO speed. My mighty might is rated at 322 at the high end as well.

Bowtech is probably one of the few companies that will actually produce what they though. Some others will as well. Darton will usually hit the speeds the rate thier bows at, as well as parker from what I understand. And from what I understand mathews is getting better in that regard. They have always made great bows, but the speeds tended to be a bit over inflated. Nothing drastic however, they are usually in the ballpark.

It's not hard at all to find bows with a 300 fps speed rating now, most of them are at least that. Doesn't mean however those are the actual speeds you will see from them.

Not yet from what I can see.:( The best I got from my Icon was 293 and it's rated 300 IBO. I even cheated a little on my arrow weight to get 293.

No big deal to me anyway , I prefer my hunting speed to be between 250 - 270fps.

IBO speed is like buying a car rated at 25 miles per gallon that gets 20 miles per gallon.[&:]

You'd have to shoot light enough arrows, be maxed out on peak weight, etc. I put little stock into IBO advertised speeds. When comparing bow speeds I find that the AMO speed is more reliable and a truer measure. JMO.

I shoot a Mathtech and it gets 666 fps. It's a custom bow...Part Mathews, part Bowtech, part Hoyt. It plain smokes 'em! Also use them Boron arrows which are made out of old fishing rods. Absolutely accurate out to 125 yards. And at 666 feet per second it really shoots flat. Penetration becomes an issue much past 125 so I try not to take them 150 yard shots.

If I can only break the sound barrier, I won't have anything to worry about. I'll have to keep trying!:eek:

well arent you guys forgeting one.the bowtech mighty mite has an ibo of 314 to 322 so its over 320 fps.....
