scent elimination/baking soda
somebody on here said that they put baking soda in their bow case to eliminate any scent on their bow. i am wondering exactly what you do. [like put baking soda in a plastic bag and then leave it open so the baking soda absorbs the scents] i am going to use this to put in my backpack to eliminate any scents in my gear and the same for my bow case.

Just pour it into a clean sock and tie the end shut. It will soak up the odors through the sock.

RE: scent elimination/baking soda
I would not put baking soda in your bow case. Might damage your bow.
I would just consentrate on your odor like clothes, hat, gloves, boots, etc. |
RE: scent elimination/baking soda
I wouldn't want powder getting in my cam and axels.

RE: scent elimination/baking soda
I wash my huntin clothes in baking soda and hang them outside to dry, then keep them in a Rubbermaid container with a tight fitting lid and have a sock with baking soda in it in there as well.
I also use baking soda on myself after showering before a hunt.....arm pits and dump some in my shorts!:D I do not own any scent containment clothing, but play the wind as carefully as I can! 4 P&Y class whitetails says baking soda works pretty well!;) |

RE: scent elimination/baking soda
I'm the one that started this tip.
I've been using baking soda in a sock in my bow case for 2 years now - the soda does not get in the cams - you guys are paranoid lol. You'll do more damage to your cams when you drag ur bow up in the tree by a rope than you will with baking soda dust. The wind will blow any residue away. My tip was not just for the bow - when I get done hunting I put my gloves, hat, facemask, and trigger release in the bow case also. Keeps it all scent free. If ur afraid it will damage ur bow then use a plastic sack with the above said items then go see a psychiotrist lol. |
RE: scent elimination/baking soda
do you need to throw the baking soda away after a while and get new stuff, or does it keep working?
