Ontario whitetails

Just wondering if anyone has heard how the whitetail season looks in NW Ontario?
Hunted the Sioux Narrows area last year and had a blast. Didn't know what to expect and took a 7 pt on the 3rd day (Michiganites). Well after seeing some of the bucks taken later in the week, I know what to hold out for this year.
Any advice or commets appreciated
Thanks Blake MI UP:) (Snow Country)

I dont know about N/W Ont but for the rest of the Province they have issued up to 6 anterless permits for deer. Mostly doe/archery only. Im not sure how it applies to non resident. Check the Ministry of Natural Resources web-site out. Good luck, and lets see some pic of them deer

I will step out on a limb and suggest that this season will go down as the "all time" best year to hunt whitetails up here. There are many very old bucks in the system. The reason is because we have not had any winter kill for many years. Reports are streaming in of huge giant bucks showing themselves all over the area. Huge bucks with huge antlers.

With another El Nino coming this winter there will be no winter kill once again and with luck the old bucks will face an easy winter. Someone may pop another "Dryden Buck" soon and I hope its me. :)

Good luck at Sioux narrows. Its a good place to hunt alright.
