Does anyone shoot Beman anymore?
Lots of talk about carbon and all the different choices, but from what i have read, few people seem to be a fan of the Beman Hunter series. I had a set and loved them but admitedly, have noticed their specs relative to price, are not as good as others.
What's the word on these arrows? |
RE: Does anyone shoot Beman anymore?
I have shot the Beaman ICS Hunters and have no complaints. I have shot them for about 5 years and don't plan to change.
|
RE: Does anyone shoot Beman anymore?
I shot them last year. I switched to gold tip this year. The GT's seem to fly a bit better to me. IMHO.
|
RE: Does anyone shoot Beman anymore?
I've been shooting them for about 4 years. They seem to work fine. However, I may try XX78s again after shooting some of my recurve XX78s through my Darton the other day.

RE: Does anyone shoot Beman anymore?
I have a dozen of the ICS Hunters and I like them. However I am looking into picking up 1/2 dozen Gold Tip and Easton arrows to do some comparisons.
|
RE: Does anyone shoot Beman anymore?
Should I switch? My new rest requires a longer arrow.
|
RE: Does anyone shoot Beman anymore?
I've used them for about 4 years. Between the deer and hogs I've stuck and the "Robin Hood" I shot once, I'm down to six of the dozen I started with. They have been good, tough arrows.

RE: Does anyone shoot Beman anymore?
ORIGINAL: Fieldmouse Should I switch? My new rest requires a longer arrow. I've been comparing my ICS Hunters to the Gold Tip XT's that I recently picked up. So far I'm not able to see a difference. -Jeramy |
RE: Does anyone shoot Beman anymore?
My cousin shoots them problem free. i was going to get Beman ICS hunters but changed my mind as the proshop owner gave his take on it. so i went with Carbon Express CX-200's and havnet looked back. probably hte best carbon arrows being made right now, Carbon Express.

RE: Does anyone shoot Beman anymore?
I use to shoot bemans way back when they had the outserts. Do they still have outserts? That is why I got rid of them. I was tearing the fletchings off because the outsert made a hole bigger than the shaft and I always got pass through on my foam target. It just got old. I absoultely loved the shafts aside from that damn outsert.
Now that I've been shooting GT I think it is unlikely that I'll switch any time soon. They are a bit more exspensive but worth every $0.01 IMHO. |
RE: Does anyone shoot Beman anymore?
well i have a dozen of the Beman Hunter 380-16 ( very small shaft ) that use an out side point adapter or glue in or glue on broadhead , thay are a pain in the rear to get the point adapter glued on to where they will stay on , so all they do is sit in the corner on my garage .

RE: Does anyone shoot Beman anymore?
I have been using them off and on for the past two or three years. A quarter dozen of the 340s will be adorning my quiver come hunting season this year. I seem to have just as good luck with them as I have with most of the other ICS style carbons that I have tried.

RE: Does anyone shoot Beman anymore?
I have a dozen ICS camo hunters I got mail order for 35 bucks, fletched and inserts. The smaller diameter compared to aluminums makes tuning harder
|
RE: Does anyone shoot Beman anymore?
I've been using Beman 340 ICS Hunters for 3 years now. I love them. I have shot into trees and it never phases them. I picked up a dozen of Camo Hunters for this year. Can't wait to cover one in red!

RE: Does anyone shoot Beman anymore?
Adams, they don't have the outserts anymore. ICS stands for internal component system. I have a dozen of the ICS hunters and they shoot excellent for me. The only complaint I have is the camo finish they put on some of them. I used to have a dozen of those and every time I shot a McKenzie with them I would have foam fused to the arrow shaft that I had to scrape to get it off. I have since switched to the all grey ones and haven't looked back. Great arrows.;)

RE: Does anyone shoot Beman anymore?
Has Beman always been under Easton's name? I never new that before. Guess I need to pay more attention. I had thought they were a competitor. I had purchased my shafts from bulk but noticed last night that the retail 1/2 dozens were in Easton packaging.

RE: Does anyone shoot Beman anymore?
I shoot Beman ICS Camo Hunter 340's. The arrows shoot great and are super tough.
|
RE: Does anyone shoot Beman anymore?
I shoot Beman ICS 400's and haven't had one problem with them so far.
|
RE: Does anyone shoot Beman anymore?
Beaman ICS hunters shoot good for me.
|
RE: Does anyone shoot Beman anymore?
I shoot the 340's also.
I wouldn't mid picking up some 400's to play with, but I have so many 340's that won't die, so 340's it is! p.s. Beman= made in USA. |
RE: Does anyone shoot Beman anymore?
Just curious but what is the straightness factor on the ICS hunters.I cant seem to find it anywhere.I am assuming if they are made with the c2 process as eastons carbons then they are likely .005 as well,or worse,am I correct.

RE: Does anyone shoot Beman anymore?
:) My son, Joe just switched over to Bemans. He was 4 out of 5 with his aluminum arrows but I respect his shooting ability and judgement. If his batting average dips this year you can bet the ol' man will bust him a few as payback for all the time he lovingly rags me.
