trouble with release
 

I am having trouble with my release hangin up when the trigger is pulled. I have to give it a little shake at full draw to finally shoot. I have already lost a couple arrows into the field. This is happening 6-8 times out of 10 shots. Any ideas suggestions or otherwise

i have that same problem when i poop!
NO JUST KIDDING...
there should be a screw for settings it shoudl have an allan key head. try that if not i woudl get yourself a new release.
that sounds like it woudl be rather annoying! why are you still shooting with it after 7/10 times it does that?

I didn't use to do that. It's a pretty new release, and just started this problem the last couple times I have been out back shootin. I will try adjusting and see if that works, thanks

EEHhh. I'd see if it's adjustable and if not get a new release asap. With the season a month away the lest thing you need is issues with your release.

What make of release are you shooting?

if that adjustment doesnt work i woudl take it back.. thats not acceptable for yoru release. lets think about that.
here you are at full draw and you want you arrow to go straight as possible. so your gonna shake your hand a little which is attached to a release which is firmly attached to the string which is attached to the bow. the slightest movement and your arrow is 4' wide! that could be a DANGEROUS accident.
take yoru release into the shop and have them check it out if they cant fix the problem they should offer you a NEW release and they SHOUDL send that release back to the manufacturer.

what kind of release did you say it was?

I am pretty sure it is a tru fire, I am not at home right now. Supposed to be workin. It was not an expensive release but it was not cheap either.

The release is probably just dry and dirty. What you need to do is get some carburator cleaner and squirt it down good. Let it soak about 5 minutes than squirt it again. The cleaner will flush out any accumulated gunk and oil. Shake the release out good and let it dry. Then squirt it down good with a silicone spray lube. Silicone lube won't attract dirt and gunk or gum up in cold weather like WD40 or oil will.

It oughta work like a champ again.

A little maintenance from time to time generally makes mechanical contraptions work a lot better.;)

I just take a can of sylocone spray with the little piece of tubing in the hole and just drench the thing. Stick the little plastic tube in every nook and cranny and flood the thing. Work the action open and closed and spray in every nook and drench it. Then I take a can of that air in a can that you get to clean out your computer and blow in every nook and cranny cleaning out the crud. If it doesn't cure it... do it again. Usually works fine the first time.

If it's relatively new and you still have the receipt, or theres a woman working the counter at returns and you're a good flirt I'd take it back. I want to know that all my equipment is in good working order before I head to the field, I don't want to take any un necessary chances.

that p[retty much sums up what i was thinking.... i agree 110% and i couldnt agree any more :D
