They are bad this year but so far not as bad as last year. My son walked thru about 200 yards of grass field to get to a gun stand last year and pulled 17 ticks off when he got to stand.[:'(] Sure hope we don't get that again.

Last year after a day of walking through the swamps, it was typical to end up with atleast 50 ticks on me. This year in the same area, I probably got 10-15. So it's a lot better than last year. I've never heard of anyone getting lyme disease up where I am, so it's really not that big a deal(not yet anyways). Now, deer flys are another story this time of year.

I've found that the ticks in East GA are pretty bad this year. I've had a least one on me the last three trips to the woods. Last trip out my buddy found one on him and my 5 yr old son had one on his shoulder when we got home. I got the tweezers and carefully removed said tick prior to his mother finding it. That was a smart move...

We've had a rather wet year so far ,
and bugs of all types are at record levels . When I went out for Spring turkey I forgot to pack my bug suit the first day , and my wife pulled twelve ticks off me . This was in addition to about forty chiggers , and an equal number of skeeter bites . [&:]

C J, I've never seen a cockroach in any building or house I've been in. I know that there are some in Michigan but none to speak of near me.

How do you get a tick off if its on you? Do you just yank it out?

The tick herd is nice and healthy this year. As is the skeeters, horse flies, black flies, gnats, fire ants, chiggers....
